Graduation Season...

6/3

So, my sister Holly graduated on Friday. She was valedictorian, so she got to give a speech. She did a great job and didn't even look nervous! The ceremony wasn't all that impressive (the band could have practiced a little more, and one of the girls in the choir forgot her solo lines...poor girl. I felt bad for her), but we all enjoyed it anyway. Jonathan got an iPhone right before, so he had plenty to fill the boring parts... :) Anyway, the pictures after the graduation are always plentiful. Here is a small sampling.

The proud parents
The whole baseball team :)

The 2 valedictorians :)
After the ceremony, we went home and had some pizza before going to see the new X-Men movie.  The showing was at 10:40pm, so we didn't get home till 1am, but that's what family events are for, right? :)

Bridget is getting better.  She didn't make it to the graduation ceremony, but she's resting and watching lots of movies. :)

Anyway, that was about enough excitement for Friday. :)

6/4
Well, needless to say, I slept in a little bit. :)  We just kind of hung out until mid-afternoon, when we went to our friend's wedding.  Which was outside in the sun.  Yeah, it was a toasty 80+ and really humid, and with dress clothes on, it felt like even more.  I felt bad for the groom and groomsmen with their tuxes.  Anyway, we were fortunate enough to get seats near the front.  I guess people were shy or something, because the first 3 rows were free when we got there like 5 minutes before the ceremony started.  But it worked for us! :)  The ceremony was nice, and I always enjoy seeing two friends commit their lives to each other.  After the ceremony, everyone had to stand up and adjust their clothes because they were stuck because of the humidity.  :)  It was kind of amusing because everyone was trying to be all nonchalant about it, but there's no way to tug on your britches without looking ridiculous. :)

The reception was fun, especially when my brother-in-law (Bridget's sisters' husband) caught a snake in the pond out back.  :)  And the maid-of-honor, who is normally quite talkative, had to giver her toast after losing her voice the night before.  Fond memories all around. :)
