Getting closer...

Yesterday was COLD.  The past 3 days were HOT (90+) and then overnight the temperature dropped into the 50's!  So, Jason and Jaymie had soccer games on Tuesday night and last night.  On Tuesday, they had two water breaks in the middle of the games to give the players a break from the heat.  Last night, they ended some games early because of the cold.  On Tuesday, I was sweating and last night, I sat out there and FROZE!  I had on pants and a hoodie, but the wind was not to be deterred from chilling to the bone.  Jason's team won and Jaymie played well, so it was a good time.  But it was SOOO cold.  Good 'ole Midwest weather...

This morning, I went to a Body Pump class taught by my former high school teacher (and good friend of mine).  If you aren't familiar with Body Pump (I wasn't before this morning), it is an intense 55-minute "choreographed" workout to music.  The choreographed part just means that all of the exercises are the same each time, but everything is done to music, so the beat helps keep the adrenaline pumping.  The workouts and music change every 3 months, so it doesn't get stale over time.  Anyway, I used really light weights since it was my first time, but was still hurting by the end.  But it was alot of fun.  Oh, and I almost forgot to mention that the class was at 5am.  Yeah, I got up at 4:30am and made it to Peak Fitness at 4:45am.  And was back out the door by 6:15am.  I came home and took a quick shower before laying down for a quick nap until the rest of the house woke up.  Next thing I know, Bridget is waking me up and says that it is 11am!!!  Yeah, so much for a quick nap.  I must have been a little more exhausted than I thought...

This afternoon, Bridget and I spread all of our stuff out on the bed and packed up the backpack for the trip!  It was quite a sight.  Clothes, swimming goggles, camera cases, and travel books were everywhere!  But Bridget's travel backpack is HUGE, and everything fit.  And it doesn't weigh a ton either (or my workout is already paying off...).  Anyway, it felt good to double-check everything and make sure we have what we need.

We're off to Chicago tomorrow for Jonathan's (my older brother) medical school graduation.  I'll be heading in early to help him pack before he moves to Pennsylvania on Sunday.  So much packing...  But once we return from that, we'll have just one more day before we leave!  Can't wait!
